Our journey to find the perfect dog led us to a hunter selling his "reject" beagle puppies - the ones who couldn't hunt. Little did we know our perfect match was waiting among them, wearing the price tag of a hunting dog dropout. When we walked into the hunter's house, we were greeted by a puppy no bigger than a fist, who ran straight up to us and promptly peed on the floor in excitement. I wasn't convinced, but my husband was already smitten. When we asked the hunter how he knew she wouldn't make it as a hunting dog, he simply said, "I just know." That was all the explanation we needed for our little discount dog. The adventure began immediately.
